Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Managing Director at Royal Artemis Private Hospital. The Managing Director will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations, managing staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, developing and implementing strategic plans, and maintaining a high level of patient satisfaction. The Managing Director will work closely with the executive team to achieve the hospital’s goals and objectives.

Qualifications

  • Strategic Planning and Operations Management: The general manager is tasked with leading the business and operations of the hospital. This includes developing strategic plans, organizing medical services, managing resources effectively, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Management: Managing the financial aspects of the hospital is a crucial part of the role. This involves budgeting, monitoring expenses, revenue generation, billing oversight, and maintaining financial records. The general manager must work towards controlling costs while optimizing revenue streams.
  • Quality Assurance and Patient Care: Ensuring high-quality patient care is a top priority for the general manager. They oversee healthcare quality initiatives, implement patient safety measures, monitor clinical performance, and strive to meet accreditation standards such as those set by organizations like NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers).
  • Staff Recruitment and Training: Recruiting, hiring, training, and leading medical staff are essential duties of the general manager. Creating a productive work environment, managing schedules, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering professional development among employees are key aspects of this responsibility.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Reporting: The general manager is accountable for ensuring 100% compliance with statutory regulations, preparing statistical reports, handling medico-legal issues, maintaining patient feedback processes, and overseeing quality management systems within the hospital.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Interacting with various stakeholders such as physicians, nurses, administrators, patients, insurers, and regulatory bodies is integral to the role.
  • Facility Management: Overseeing facility management in coordination with relevant departments ensures that operational activities run smoothly. This includes managing material resources efficiently, implementing best practices in administration, pharmacy management, facility maintenance.
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Implementing best practices in healthcare delivery through evidence-based medicine approaches, safety initiatives, quality assurance programs, mock drills for emergency preparedness, and ongoing training to enhance clinical performance are vital components of the general manager’s responsibilities.

Academic Background

  • University degree or degree or equivalent qualification in any subject and Master’s degree or degree in Business Administration, Health Services Administration, Public Health or other subject relevant to the duties and responsibilities of this position
  • At least ten (10) years of experience in the management of a large organization with increased levels of responsibility.
