Job Description

Our client, a reputable Group of Companies in the FinTech sector, is looking to hire a Database Administrator (DBA) for their office in Limassol.

Role Overview:

As a DBA, you will be crucial in managing the company’s databases, ensuring their performance, integrity, and security. This involves designing, implementing, and maintaining systems to support the organization’s growing needs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee AWS cloud databases: providing daily support, enhancing performance, handling backups, and managing replication.
  • Migrate large data sets from on-premises databases to cloud solutions.
  • Design, implement, and maintain database systems that support business operations.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance and query efficiency.
  • Implement and uphold database security measures to protect sensitive information.
  • Conduct regular backups, manage replication processes, and plan for disaster recovery to ensure data integrity.
  • Collaborate with software developers and system administrators to resolve database-related issues.
  • Evaluate and recommend database technologies and tools to improve system performance.
  • Assist in planning for database capacity and scalability to support business growth.
  • Document database processes, procedures, and configurations for knowledge sharing and compliance.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to users on database issues.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in database management and FinTech.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Database Administrator or a similar role in the financial services sector.
  • Proficiency in database management systems such as MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
  • Knowledge of database security principles and best practices.
  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
  • Familiarity with database backup, replication, and recovery procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AWS.
  • Certifications in relevant database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
